General procedure: 1-methyl-1H-indole-2-carbaldehyde (6.3 mmol) wasdissolved in 20 mL of toluene. (Triphenylphosphoranylidene)-2-propanone (9.4mmol) was added and the mixture was heated at 120 C for 12 h. After cooling,the solvent was removed in vacuo.
