I (n = 2) were also prepared by treating the appropriate II with thialactone DL-III. I (X = CH, R = R1 = H, n = 2) was also prepared by treating II (X, R, R1 = same, R2 = N+Me3 I-) with DL-[HO2CCH(NH2)CH2CH2S].
